As we’re nearing the end of 2016, talk of the Eurovision Song Contest 2017 is ripe; especially when countries are releasing information on their national selections. Georgia’s Public Broadcaster (GBP) announced the 25 contestants today.
This is the final shortlist, where the winner will go on to representing the country at the Eurovision Song Contest 2017. The winner will be decided by a combination of jury and public votes.
There was initially 28 acts; however, Ancho Dolidze, Ani Kekua, and Natia Bidzinashvili have all pulled out.
The 25 acts for Georgia’s National Selection for Eurovision 2017:

Georgia debuted in the Eurovision Song Contest back in 2007. Since then the best they’ve done is placing ninth, twice, in the Grand Final, back in 2010 and 2011. On the other hand, they’ve been dominating the Junior Eurovision Song Contest, where they’ve won a record three times.
Could their recent win at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2016 fuel their 2017 entrant into winning?
A few countries have already chosen their representative through internal selection. These are: Cyprus’ Hovig, the Netherlands’ O’G3NE, Belgium’s Blanche, Macedonia’s Jana Burceska, and Azerbaijan’s Dihaj.
