But one Sydney influencer has caused a frenzy after sharing a video of the $27 two-piece she purchased at Kmart – with Chelsea Williamson telling news.com.au: “You don’t have to spend a lot of money in order to look fashionable.”

In her clip, Chelsea shows off the “cutest” cossie which features a bandeau style top and string bottoms in a summery yellow and white gingham print.

“I loved the print of the bikini but also the top has a strap so it’s very versatile to wear different ways,” she told news.com.au.

“I’d style it with a pair of white linen shorts, an oversized shirt, pair of sunnies and a cute straw beach bag.

“I don’t believe you have to spend a lot of money in order to look fashionable or pull together a cute outfit.”

The social media star, who has amassed a following of over 125,000 on TikTok, posted a clip of her buying the item in store before trying it on at home.

It quickly went viral, clocking up almost 50,000 views in the 24 hours after it was posted, with many declaring Chelsea had “influenced” them to buy the “bargain swimmers” – as others expressed shock at Kmart’s “super cute” swimwear offerings.

“OMG what, it’s actually so nice,” one wrote.

“Influenced, went and got it today thank you,” another said.

And another wrote: “I bought the set now too, I love it.”

Chelsea isn’t the only person raving about Kmart’s newest bikinis and swimming costumes, with fans of the budget store flooding social media with their recent purchases.

“Kmart Aus stepping up there game with bikinis,” one wrote on Instagram.

“I swear @kmartaustralia is just getting better and BETTER,” another agreed.

Queensland bargain lover Islah Palmer pointed out Kmart’s “tie front” bikini top in a contrasting lilac and orange check was “so cute too”.

The Brisbane woman purchased the $15 top, which has underwire support and comes in cup sizes up to a DD/E, adding there were matching bottoms as well as a one-piece in the pattern.
