General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that alum Robyn Bernard’s (Terry Brock) last years reportedly were sad and tragic, and she blamed Hollywood for her downfall.

The actress’ body was found at 4 AM on Tuesday, March 12 in a field behind a 7/11 gas station in San Jacinto, California. According to DailyMail.com, Benard struggled with “addictions to alcohol and meth and serious mental health issues.”

The outlet talked to her friends who painted a grim picture of her final days in a rural outpost outside LA.

The field where Benard was found was homeless gathering place and her former neighbor Norma Teyechea told DailyMail.com: “She used to drink a lot and take drugs. I’m surprised she made it this far to be honest with you. She would drink neat vodka – it will get you in the end.”

She added “She used to talk about Hollywood – she said she was abused in Hollywood a lot, and that just destroyed her pretty much from what I heard.”

Benard was the eldest daughter of Texan televangelist Jerry Wayne Bernard and her sister Crystal starred in Happy Days and Wings.

Before her GH role, Benard appeared on 80s shows The Facts Of Life, Simon & Simon and Whiz Kids. On GH she played Terry Brock, the daughter of D.L. Brock (David Groh) who married Bobbie Spencer (he late Jacklyn Zeman).

Benard was seen in 145 episodes in six years, departing in 1990. Her final credit was in the 2002 direct-to-video adaptation of the play Voices From The High School.

Bernard’s friends stated that she had been diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia and moving to a San Jacinto mobile home parks for senior, her residence burned down in 2015, killing all eight of her cats.

Bernard then moved into a community called Parkview Estates, under the purview of Riverside County Adult Protective Services.

“Court records seen by DailyMail.com show repeat arrests beginning with one in November 2017 for driving under the influence of drugs and being under the influence of drugs in public. In April 2018, she was arrested for being on drugs a second time and then in October 2018, Bernard was collared for being drunk in public and for stealing a shopping cart. She was arrested again on identical charges in February 2019 and for a third time, on the exact same charges, in May the same year.”

Teyechea told DailyMail.com that Benard “loved to sing. She was a good singer. We used to go to karaoke together” and her friend Margot Nichols said “She was something else. She was a sweetheart.”
