When is his birthday?

John’s birthday is on 27 January.

What is his most popular song?

To date, Lundvik’s most popular song is “Too Late For Love”, the song he will perform in Tel Aviv at the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest in May.

“Too Late For Love” is a super catchy pop song with a soulful, gospel twist. Lundvik has a tough act to follow at the contest with Sweden having achieved two wins and a further four top-five finishes this decade alone, however, backed up on stage with a powerful choir, Lundvik has a real chance at lifting the trophy this year. The track was written by Lundvik alongside Anderz Wrethov and Andreas Johansson.

What else should I know about John Lundvik?

John Lundvik is a Swedish singer-songwriter who will be representing Sweden at the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest with the song “Too Late For Love”.

Born in London, United Kingdom, Lundvik was adopted by Swedish expats and stayed in London until the family moved back to Sweden when he was six years old.

Lundvik started out as a competitive runner winning a string of medals including eight golds in national competitions, however, he gave his athletic career up to follow his passion for music.

In 2014, Lundvik entered Melodifestivalen (Sweden’s highly successful national selection show for the Eurovision Song Contest) as a songwriter for the track “Natural” performed by Anton Ewald. The song finished second in its semifinal but came last in the grand final. Sanna Nielsen won the contest and went on to finish third in the Eurovision Song Contest that year.

In 2018, the singer-songwriter tried his luck again at Melodifestivalen, performing “My Turn” in the contest. This time he finished third in the grand final behind winner Benjamin Ingrosso and runner-up Felix Sandman.

Earlier this year, Lundvik took part in Melodifestivalen 2019 with the song “Too Late For Love” and went on to win the contest after receiving the maximum twelve points from all international juries on the night as well as winning the televote.

As well as this, Lundvik will be the first Eurovision artist in history to compete against himself at the competition, after co-writing the track “Bigger Than Us” which the United Kingdom’s Michael Rice will perform in the grand final.
