A woman has died and four others are in hospital after a horror two-car collision in Tasmania.
The crash occurred on the Bass Highway on Tuesday about 3.30pm, a Tasmanian Police spokeswoman said.
A 64-year-old woman from Crayfish Creek died at the scene after the Holden Rodeo Ute she was driving collided with a blue Land Rover Freelander at Hellyer in the state’s northwest.
The driver of the Land Rover, a 32-year-old woman, received serious injuries and was transported to the North West Regional Hospital.
Paramedics also took her three passengers to hospital, all in a stable condition.
Police are asking members of the public who may have seen the vehicles in the area at the time, witnessed the crash or who may have relevant dashcam footage to contact them on 131 444.
