G Herbo has come clean about his past infidelities, admitting that his current relationship with Taina Williams began before things ended with his ex-girlfriend Ari Fletcher.

The confession came during Herbo’s recent appearance on Yung Miami‘s popular podcast Caresha Please, kicking off the REVOLT show’s second season on Thursday (December 22). While the Survivor’s Remorse artist initially dismissed his cheating as a result of his being “young” and “dumb,” he eventually opened up about the deeper root causes behind his actions.

“Me and Ari was at a space, and I done talked to her about this already, I done already bid my peace and apologized,” G Herbo began. “But we was at a space where, like I said, mentally I be going through shit and I gotta separate myself from shit. Me and her was having our differences but that was no excuse to cheat on her, that was not why I cheated on her. I didn’t intentionally do all that.”

He went on to clarify that the period of infidelity started shortly after the birth of his 4-year-old son, Yohsohn. Ari Fletcher has previously spoken about experiencing postpartum depression after his arrival in 2018.

G Herbo admitted that part of the stress on the former couple’s relationship was his own lack of experience and knowledge about the mental health condition which, according to National Library of Medicine, can impact as many as 20 percent of new mothers within the first six weeks after childbirth.

“I was naïve to that though,” he explained. “I ain’t never been around a woman who was suffering from postpartum depression or none of that. And at the same time, when she was going through that, I had just lost one of my best friends, I lost my homie C Money. So I was super stressed and shit. But that ain’t no excuse, I ain’t making no excuse. I had to make peace with myself early on. Cuz I thought I was right back then.”

He continued: “We was at a space where we wasn’t communicating like that. We wasn’t having sex, I wasn’t coming home to my family, I’m sleeping in the studio every night. So in my brain, I’m like, ‘Aight, I ain’t cheating ’cause I’m not having sex with her and going and having sex with somebody else.’ But in actuality I was though.”

G Herbo wasn’t the only one opening up about his relationship during the Caresha Please interview, as he had some of his own questions for Yung Miami. Towards the end of the episode Herbo asked her whether she knew that her high-profile beau Diddy was going to be a dad for the sixth time before the child’s birth.

“Did you know about that baby before October?” Herb asked with a smile. Yung Miami proceeded to giggle before Herb asked again, “Did you?”

“Yeah, I did,” Miami admited. “I think communication is the key. I feel like when you dealing with somebody communication is the key. It wasn’t a surprise.”

Herbo then asked Yung Miami if she was going to get pregnant next. “If it happens, I’m gonna do it,” she answered, while adding that she’s not currently taking birth control. However, she didn’t specify who the father would be.
