The BRITs have just announced their first batch of performances for the show that will air on February 22nd 2017, live from the O2 Arena in London. Yes, the first three acts to be announced are Little Mix, The 1975, and Emeli Sandé. BRITs chairman Jason Iley said that these acts “have not only sold millions of records but they are incredible live artists renowned for their memorable performances.” What a lineup already!
Little Mix will be returning to the BRITs stage after an iconic performance of ‘Black Magic’ last year. Since then, they’ve had an incredibly successful year, with their massive Get Weird Tour and release of their fourth album, Glory Days. In fact, Glory Days just became the longest running #1 album from a girl group of this millennium! The girls will most likely be performing their latest single, ‘Touch’, and we can’t wait to see what epic performance and choreography they have in store for us.
… We absolutely cannot wait to be on that stage again to put on an amazing show for all you guys! ?? the girls x #LittleMixBRITs #BRITs pic.twitter.com/hVvzD3hK0h

The 1975 are new to The BRITs lineup, but we know they’ll be a wonderful addition. Their second album released in February 2016, i like it when you sleep, for you are so beautiful yet so unaware of it, has since taken the world by storm and received numerous stellar reviews and critical acclaims. Their performance is a mystery as of now, but we’re guessing it might include their hit song ‘The Sound’ or their most recent single ‘She’s American’.

Finally, we have the incredible vocalist and the only solo act to be announced so far: Emeli Sandé. She will be appearing on the BRITs stage for the first time in four years, since winning two awards for her record-breaking debut album Our Version of Events in 2013. Since then, her second album Long Live The Angels has gone on to smash more records and win the hearts of many. Sandé said she is “so thrilled to be back at the BRITs this year.”
In other BRITs news, the Nomination Show will air tomorrow, January 14th, with performances from Craig David, Christine and The Queens, Calum Scott, and Rag ‘n’ Bone Man. Caspar Lee has also recently been announced as this year’s digital host for the awards show, taking over Dan Howell and Phil Lester’s three-year run as hosts of the international livestream.
We can’t wait for all of these performances! February 22nd can’t come quickly enough. We’ll be on the lookout for announcements of more performers in the coming weeks.
