Shane Dawson has reached another milestone on YouTube with 8 million subscribers. Shane first joined YouTube in 2005, but didnt start regularly uploading videos until 2008. He has since accumulated over 3 billion views combined from his channels, Shane and Shane Dawson TV.

Shane first joined YouTube in 2005, but didn’t start regularly uploading videos until 2008. He has since accumulated over 3 billion views combined from his channels, “Shane” and “Shane Dawson TV.”

He released two books over the course of his career, the first being 2015’s I Hate Myselfie. His second book, It Gets Worse, became an instant #1 New York Times Bestseller. To accompany his book, the YouTuber released a short film of the same name that starred other Internet stars, such as Lisa Schwartz and Joey Graceffa.

In reaching the milestone, Dawson stated that he is extremely “overwhelmed” and “grateful” for his fans. He says, “thank you guys for supporting me and watching me for so long.”

He also posted a throwback video of himself in 2008.
